The Baltimore Urban Waters Partnership (BUWP) serves to:
Improve coordination among federal, state, and local agencies
Collaborate with community-led efforts to improve the greater Baltimore/Patapsco watershed
Promote economic, environmental, and social benefits of healthy waterways that can be accessed by all

The 375,000-acre Patapsco River Watershed spans four counties and Baltimore City, flows into Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and ultimately into Chesapeake Bay. The watershed consists of forested areas, rural areas, productive farms, as well as suburban, urban and industrial areas.

What do we do?
The Baltimore Urban Waters Partnership works to develop projects devoted to:
protecting and restoring urban waters
promoting community revitalization and strengthening social fabric by removing urban blight
establishing open spaces
creating economic development to catalyze opportunities for disadvantaged neighborhoods
capitalizing on the social and economic benefits derived from improved urban waters and adjacent lands
